LEA Plans and Improvement Targets

All  LEAs should make use of data, particularly suitability surveys as part of the Asset Management process to inform the prioritisation of access works. They should also produce a Statement of Priorities for LEA Capital for the Asset Management Plan appraisal process for 2003-04. Within this document, accessibility and inclusion should be identified as one of the key priorities for LEA capital projects for the period up to 2006.

Within the Statement of Priorities, improvement targets are

-        To secure a wide range of access improvements in all schools thereby improving parental choice

-        To complete suitability re-assessments of all schools

-        To undertake detailed access audits of all schools
