Role of the LEA

LEAs are required to undertake the following measures in line with the three strands of the planning duty as detailed above. This will include

·        a strategic overview of disabled access provision, also linking in to other capital works,;

·        securing staff training and encouraging schools to work together and share good practice

·        develop and improve support for schools with low-incidence disabilities such as dyslexia, hearing and visual impairment.
